Now that Elsie is almost 10 months I should post the results of her 9-month check up with Dr. Rose.

Dr. Rose hadn’t seen the girls since their 2-month check up. As soon as she walked in she said, “They don’t look like the same babies!” I would have to agree. They have grown up so much in the past three months even. I look back at their tiny baby pictures and-wow-these girls have grown.

Quick stats:

Weight: 18#5oz puts her into the 45 percentile

Height: 27 1/4″ puts her into the 35 percentile

Head Circumfrence: 17 3/8″ puts her into the 50 percentile

Elise is perfect, small but growing just fine. She loves to blow raspberries (which Maia call’s “blowing chickens” for a reason known only to her). She say’s mamamamama and dadadadadadada and all kinds of other fun vocalizations. She loves to laugh. She likes to be tickled and her smile will light up a room. She’s a good little snuggle bunny for about 2 minutes then she wants down to roll and explore. She’s good in the stroller and likes the swing at the playground but is not sure about the sand. Everything goes into her mouth. Even food.

She’s having four bottles (24-28oz) and about three meals a day. Elise is great with her fine pincer grasp and likes to self feed. We just started on the sippy cup and she seems to get the concept. She would like the spoon to begin feeding herself, but I’m waiting just a bit longer on that one. I’m not ready to give it up yet.

Elise loves finger foods and will eat about anything put in front of her. She’s really been enjoying the summer fruits. Watermelon is an especial favorite right now.

Next check happens just after her first birthday. I am astounded that we’ve come this far. I love my little Elise and am looking forward to watching her meet her next few milestones.
